HIGH MOUNTAIN COFFEE
Join us for a special Taiwan High Mountain Coffee Cupping, featuring coffees from some of Taiwan’s most celebrated high-altitude estates.
Across two afternoons, we’ll be tasting coffees from Zou Zhou Yuan, Zhou Wu Mountain, Songyue, Hua Xi Tian and Hua Rui, exploring the diversity, character and terroir of Taiwanese specialty coffee.
And there’s something extra special in the lineup — 2 Taiwanese Geshas alongside a Panama Gesha from Ninety Plus. A rare opportunity to taste them side by side and discover how origin, altitude and processing shape each cup.
About the estates
ZOU ZHOU YUAN 鄒築園
Based in Alishan’s Leye Village, Zou Zhou Yuan is one of the pioneers of Taiwan’s high-mountain specialty coffee movement. Led by award-winning producer Fang Cheng-Lun, the estate is especially known for its exceptional Gesha and experimental varieties grown at around 1,300m. Zou Zhou Yuan, nestled in the highlands of Alishan, Taiwan, is a remarkable coffee farm that has gained international recognition for its specialty coffee. The farm is led by Rainy and her husband Fang, affectionately known as the “Coffee Prince,” who are dedicated to crafting coffee that honors their heritage while supporting their indigenous community.
ZHUO WU MOUNTAIN 卓武山
Located in Alishan’s Chashan Village at around 1,200m, Zhuo Wu Mountain transitioned from high-mountain tea to coffee in 2001. The farm gained international attention when its natural Gesha took first place at Taiwan’s 2021 PCA auction.
SONGYUE 嵩岳
Nestled in Caoling, Gukeng at around 1,200m, Songyue benefits from cool mountain temperatures and large day-to-night temperature swings. Known for its meticulous seed-to-cup production, the estate has earned numerous awards for its Gesha and other Taiwanese-grown coffees.
HUA XI TIAN 花囍田
A seed-to-cup estate in Caoling, Hua Xi Tian focuses on coffee grown in harmony with its surrounding ecosystem. The estate placed fourth in the 2022 Taiwan PCA, with coffees noted for apple, citrus and honey-like characteristics.
HUA RUI 樺瑞咖啡莊園
Located in Caoling at around 800m, Hua Rui manages its coffee from ripe cherry selection through processing and roasting. Its careful production focuses on creating clean, stable and layered expressions of Taiwan’s unique mountain terroir.
